Tour Description
This circular tour is a must for bikers on every visit to Vorarlberg. As a perfect warm-up, we first go off the main roads through the magnificent Montafon, then we dedicate ourselves to the legendary Silvretta High Alpine Road and its curves. After the pit stop at the biker meeting point on the Bielerhöhe, we swing through the idyllic Paznauntal to a detour to Tyrol and the Arlberg Pass. After this round, our sense of balance jubilates until late in the evening.

Bludenz
Flanked by the Lechtal Alps, the Swiss Rätikon and the Verwall Group, the centuries-old town is officially one of the most beautiful Alpine towns in Europe. Gates and walls, venerable town houses, winding alleys and romantic arcades form a self-contained unit here. A long stop in the traffic-free old town is particularly worthwhile. Stroll under romantic old town arcades past magnificent town houses, stop off in cafés, pubs and bars or enjoy a wonderful overview of all this splendor from Bludenz’s local mountain, the 1,400 m high Muttersberg. Its summit can be easily reached with the Muttersbergbahn in panoramic cabins and a journey time of just 8 minutes.
Montafon
Vorarlberg’s most famous valley, the Montafon in front of the south-eastern gates of Bludenz, is a good 40 km long. The valley is bounded by the Verwall group in the north and by the Rätikon and the Silvretta in the south. The highest elevation in the entire region is the 3312 m high Piz Buin in the Silvretta Group. Man settled in this valley as early as 5000 years ago, as excavations prove. Today the Montafon is one of the most important holiday destinations in Vorarlberg with over 60 cable cars and the Silvretta High Alpine Road.
Panoramastraße Bartholomäberg
It is still an insider tip for drivers in the Montafon, it leads over winding altitudes and offers magnificent views of the Montafon and the surrounding high alpine peaks. Its ascent begins in St. Anton near Bludenz, it continues via the village of Bartholomäberg to Innerberg and Silbertal, before returning to the valley in Schruns.
Silvretta Hochalpenstraße
Its highest point is at a good 2,036m, it inspires bikers with 33 hairpin bends over a length of a good 26 km. Its apex at the Silvretta-Bielerhöhe is the highest motorable pass in the Montafon directly on the flank of the famous Piz Buin, it is one of the real dream roads in the Alps. The largest biker meeting point in Vorarlberg is located directly on the Scheitelhöhe, restaurants invite you to stop off here, and the Silvrettahaus is also happy to spend the night. And the imposing Silvrettasee has a very special experience with the highest motor boat traffic in Europe.
Paznaun
The valley of the Trisanna river begins at the foot of the Silvretta and stretches 30 km to Landeck. The V-shaped idyllic high valley is surrounded by the Verwall, Samnaun and Silvretta group and is perfectly structured for tourism. Ischgl in particular has become a Mecca for summer and winter tourism, but Galtür and the other towns also have a charm worth experiencing.
Arlbergpass
After all, 9 hairpin bends lead up to its highest point at 1,793 m. The Arlberg Pass or just “Arlberg” forms the border between Vorarlberg and Tyrol. In terms of driving, it is not necessarily demanding, but it still has a lot to offer in terms of landscape. Ultimately, the name of the federal state of Vorarlberg is derived from his name. Since the Arlberg expressway and tunnel were opened in December 1978, the volume of traffic on the Arlberg Pass has decreased significantly. We should enjoy that.
